I have decided to skip my weigh in this week as I'm worried that it may demotivate me to carry on... I may have had a weekend of vodka and diet coke....
Apparently I didn't die... nor did anything fatal happen to me... however, both nights (yes I went out twice :/ ) I stuck to vodka and diet coke/ lemonade. Both nights were relatively cheap as it didn't take me very long to get drunk! However, I had the worst hangovers. My head felt like it was going to explode and all I wanted to do was grab a maccy d's and pig out watching movies. Instead I drank water... lots of water. I wouldn't advise drinking on this diet... I'm not doing it again. It's Monday and I still feel rough.
I'm still finding the diet easy. It's definitely much easier to do that in the first week.

Week 2 - Day 3
Feeling great this week.
I haven't been as tired and no longer am I getting hungry! I had a little slip up yesterday where I forgot to take a shake with me and I ended up having two bars in one day! I'm sure this wont really effect anything. There are some worriers on the forums saying "Oh no! I've had two bars today! I'll be out of ketosis!!" but I am optimistic. It's not going to harm every once in a while. Especially since the bars have similar stats as the shakes. Perhaps I had 19 more calories yesterday... that's really not going to make any difference to my weight loss.
Let's see how the rest of this week goes.
Note to self: stop getting on the scales every 3 days, you will become addicted!

My First Week on Exante
Week 2 - Day 1- First weigh day (7 pound loss)
Starting a blog was something that I didn't really think about until I realised the amount of mental support I could build by just voicing my feelings. I have been mainly using the Minimins forum to talk to other people on the diet. Mainly as a form of motivation and perhaps some reinforcement that I am doing it right, but no matter the reason, Minimins is awesome.
So let's talk about Exante...
Exante, so far, is my favourite VLCD. The taste of the products outweigh any other diet of its kind and it's also cheaper. I say this with experience of tasting both the bars (Chocolate and Orange, and Toffee and Raisin), which are very filling. They are like rice crispy square bars but with a lot more to them. I have also tasted all of the shakes (Chocolate, Vanilla, Banana and Strawberry). My least favourite is the Vanilla but if I add a spoonful of coffee and add some ice it makes a nice Latte. Similarly, the Chocolate makes a nice Mocha. I haven't tasted any of the soups so I can't comment on that.
So, how did I feel in my first week?
My first week was surprisingly not as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. It took me 2 days to get the knack of making the shakes - I found that using an electronic whisk or blender is the best way. Day 3 and 4 were accompanied with headaches, followed by three days of tiredness. I can't say I didn't feel hungry because there were times (especially in my first day) where my tummy grumbled like mad! But keeping yourself busy and determined is all you can do. I am motivated to lose the weight so this wasn't too much of a problem for me. Really though, if you actually truly want to lose weight you need to be in the right frame of mind and you can't pick at ANYTHING.
This week...
I am now entering my second week with a fabulous loss of half a stone (my first mini goal met). I still have 3 stone to lose but that's far too big of a goal to be motivated to go for. Therefore, I have decided to make smaller goals. My next target is another 10 pounds, and I aim to do this in the next three weeks (fingers crossed I can do it in two).
Exercise also enters my routine this week. Swimming on Tuesday evening, perhaps a walk on Wednesday (depending on my walking partner) and Body Works on Thursday.
Let's see how I get on.
Peace out.
